New Claris certifications introduced

Claris introduce new developer certifications  aligned with their product portfolio

 

At Compass Data we have always known and understood the many benefits to be gained by improving skillsets and acquiring technical and business qualifications.

As such Compass Data has always worked towards the attaining and maintaining of our qualifications, in both our development languages such as Claris FileMaker Development as well as Project Management and other ‘soft skills’. We believe this greatly increases our capabilities in terms of the work we do for our current clients, and how we constantly improve our development techniques to keep our clients prepared for the future.

As well as continually improving our skillset, it increases our opportunities to help offer insight and innovative techniques and developmental approaches to help enhance our clients’ businesses.

By ensuring our team remain fully up to date within the qualification structure that is set and defined by Claris in relation to all aspects of their platforms, our team are always at the forefront of the latest design possibilities as well as development techniques to help all our clients continually improve their businesses.

Up to now, the Claris FileMaker certification program consisted of a single developer qualification for each FileMaker version. This required candidates to pass an exam to achieve the certification.

To ensure that our developers remain at the forefront of development techniques and development processes, Claris have reviewed the way the training and certification process for the development community to meet the new designs and advancements in Claris 2023.

Modernising the way developers earn Claris certifications.

With the new and expanded capabilities of the Claris platform and the corresponding diverse skillset required of Claris FileMaker developers, means that the learning materials and credential requirements also needed to be upgraded and modernised.

Consequently, Claris have moved away from a lengthy technical exam for a single certification, to a series of certification choices that better reflect the whole Claris platform as well as the expertise and interests of allusers and developers using Claris FileMaker Pro.

To provide the best learning content possible, Claris, in association with expert trainers from the Claris Community, have developed new course material that supports the new credentials, and the program now consists of two new Claris certifications:

• Claris FileMaker Pro Associate: Understand the fundamentals and demonstrate your ability to use FileMaker Pro and Claris Pro for custom app development.
• Claris Connect Associate: Explore elements of using Claris Connect to integrate third-party apps and web services using flows.

Each of these new credentials include a focused Claris Academy course, a graded assessment, and a verified digital badge credential issued by Credly.

The two certifications set the foundation for Claris to continue to build upon, that will add the development of a range of specialty skills and specific product knowledge to ensure that all independently qualified developers are at an independently pre-defined level to ensure all users and clients of Claris FileMaker Pro have the skills to deliver the service you and your business require.
